Hello Everyone,
Digital marketing can feel like navigating a complex maze, and it's becoming more intricate by the day.
I want to share a current challenge I'm facing in digital marketing. Hopefully, my experience can shed light on similar hurdles you might encounter.
Recently, I've been build a personal audience across TikTok, LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube.
My primary strategy is to create engaging, broad content that resonates with a wider audience. This approach is particularly effective on TikTok at the moment.
Interestingly, TikTok is bringing in more traffic than the other platforms, a phenomenon I like to call 'cheap traffic.' It's a success indicator but often just a vanity metric.
Let's compare this to YouTube.
Just last night, one of my YouTube Shorts hit an impressive milestone, achieving over 8,000 views in a single evening!
For a new channel this is pretty good.
For context, my Shorts usually get around 200-600 views.
This spike is an example of the power of consistency in content creation, suggesting gradual improvement requires time.
However, this success brings its own challenge.
Views from YouTube Shorts are 'easy wins' and don't necessarily translate to deeper audience engagement.
My goal isn't just to chase views.
I'm passionate about connecting with people who share my interests, cultivating an audience that actively engages with the topics I explore.
This week, I've written a long-form video script, but I haven't recorded it yet.
Instead, I'm focusing on crafting this newsletter.
Perhaps this is where I'll forge stronger connections with you, my audience.
As always, I'm committed to experimenting and sharing my findings with you.
Currently, my newsletter enjoys a 39% average open rate each week, which is quite encouraging.
How's your newsletter faring?
Also, I want to extend a heartfelt thanks to a subscriber who recently shared her inspiring story with me. Following our "Marketing Made Simple" webinar last week, she emailed me about her journey.
Her small dance company is a shining example of perseverance and adaptability, especially after transitioning from community projects to larger theatre productions in London's West End.
Her story has truly motivated me this week.
Before I sign off, I leave you with a thought-provoking quote from Winston Churchill.
"Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm."
This quote reflects the idea that perseverance, even in the face of repeated setbacks, is key to ultimately achieving success
Looking forward to our next update.
Keep experimenting and stay connected!
Warm regards,
Nick Eagle
